Adwaiy vs. The Blog: The Arc of Surrender
It all started like every great saga does with denial.
The first time I mentioned writing a blog about him, Adwaiy looked at me like I’d just told him Deku's gonna die in the final episode(IF IT HAPPENS IM NOT SURPRISED). He hated the idea of the blog. Every time I brought it up, his face would go through all five stages of grief in under three seconds.
“BRO. STOP WRITING ABOUT ME ”
“I swear if you post this—”
“Why am I always the topic?”
His dramatic reactions were pure gold. Each new blog announcement was like a jump scare. He’d panic, protest, threaten (fake), and complain like it was a full-time job. The more he argued, the funnier it got. It was like watching a villain monologue while the hero casually eats popcorn.
The blog became this unstoppable force. Titles dropped like plot twists. Posts kept coming. Adwaiy was in his anti-blog era, passionately defending his reputation while simultaneously giving me endless new material. A tragic cycle.
But slowly… something changed. Not in the blog. In him.
Somewhere between Blog #4 and Blog #Too-Many, he just… gave up. The protests faded. The dramatic rants vanished. One day I said, “New blog on you”, expecting the usual reaction, and he just looked at me blankly and said:
“Ok.”
That was it. No rage. No sigh. Just a single, tired syllable. Like a man who has accepted that the storm isn’t going away, so he might as well sit and enjoy the view.
Since then, Adwaiy has entered his Unbothered Era. Blogs drop, roasts happen, stories spread — and he doesn’t even blink. He’s ascended beyond frustration. He’s reached peaceful indifference. He’s basically the anime protagonist who stops fighting mid-battle because he’s bored.
Now, the blog is like background noise to him. You could announce “Part 47 of The Adwaiy Chronicles” and he’d probably just nod and go back to sketching anime characters.
He’s no longer the victim. He’s no longer the fighter. He’s become a legend of calmness (well he always was). The blog didn’t defeat him… it exhausted him into greatness.
Your friend,
Aaron Dias

ReplyDeleteAnd hence the creation of this blog
DeleteA brand new entry that takes on Mr. Ajay's tumultuous relationship with our narrator and his blog, it offers a different perspective that feels more self aware than previous entries. I had never known that such an idea would feel so fresh, but Mr. Dias has opened my eyes. Amazing entry that I would consider to be in contention for the top spot among the older posts in terms of writing. Beautiful, yet simple, it exudes warmth and shows how well our author knows his friend. It will also go down in history as the post that finally got our subject to issue an informal response (I must say I am quite disappointed in the poor spelling and grammar, I know you can do better Adwaiy).
